    The programme prepares students to become professional teachers. The curriculum in an early childhood education programme covers a broad spectrum of both general education and major-specific courses. Students will cover general coursework in English, Maths, social studies and humanities. Not only that, they will also learn pedagogical theories and techniques, and health and family topics in classes specific to their early childhood education major. Some of the topics are:

    ● Child development
    ● Children, families and societies
    ● Language and literacy development
    ● Exploring teaching and learning
    ● Classroom management
    ● Early childhood education assessment

    With such a skill set, the graduates are professionals who will be able to develop and change the world of education in their work environment.

    Its graduates are also potential diploma lecturer, childcare centre director, home-based service provider, family support specialist, consultant, researcher and sales representative.

    Above all, KUPTM Early childhood education graduates are also encouraged to become PERMATA, KEMAS and private entrepreneurs.

Entry Requirements

  • SPM/STPM
    Passed the Malaysian Higher School Certificate (STPM) or equivalent to Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in two (2) subjects or equivalent;

    Passed the Malaysian Higher Certificate of Religion (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid;
  • Matriculation/Foundation
    Passed Matriculation / Foundation / Foundation or equivalent
  • Other
    Other recognized qualifications equivalent to it by the Malaysian Government
  • Direct Entry to Year 2 of Degree
    Diploma
    Graduated Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE) (Phase 4, MOH) or equivalent

  • English Requirements
    International applicants need to have the following language qualifications:

    i. Minimum International English Language Testing System (IELTS) 5.0; OR ii. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 500 or equivalent.
