  • Description

    The TCM programme at Xiamen University (XMU) was established in 1956. More than 20,000 graduates, who came from more than 50 countries and regions, have successfully completed the programme. The programme is supported by the Medical College at XMU and 7 affiliated tertiary hospitals (the highest level in the Chinese hospital classification). The Medical College is overseeing several leading scientific research centres such as the Biomedical Engineering Research Centre, the Anticancer Research Centre, the Basic Medical Experimental and Teaching Centre, and the Chinese Medicine Research Centre of Xiamen University. Some of the featured research areas include: TCM research of endemic diseases in Fujian and Taiwan, TCM information based research, TCM tongue diagnosis, and TCM modernisation studies.

    Our programme at Xiamen University Malaysia aims to develop skilled, competent and compassionate TCM practitioners who are able to apply problem-solving techniques and evidence-based knowledge in the diagnosis, treatment and management of their patients.

Entry Requirements

  • SPM/STPM

    Science Stream: CGPA 2.5 and principal passes in any 2 Science subjects
    Non-science Stream: CGPA 2.5 and principal passes in any 2 subjects as well as credit in any 2 Science subjects in SPM

  • A-Level

    Two (2) Science subjects and CGPA 2.5

  • UEC

    At least Grade B in 5 subjects including 2 Science subjects

  • Matriculation /Foundation

    CGPA 2.5 including 2 Science subjects

  • Other

    CGPA 2.5 in any discipline from Institutions of Higher Learning
    SAM: A TER 70 and Grade B in 2 Science subjects
    CPU: An average of 70% in 6 subjects including 2 Science subjects

  • Direct Entry to Year 2 of Degree

    Diploma:
    Diploma from Institutions of Higher Learning in the relevant field with CGPA 2.5;
    or Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine from recognised  institutions or equivalent with GPA 2.0 and with 2 years of relevant  working experience;
    or Diploma with CGPA 2.5 from institutions recognised by the Traditional and Complementary Medicine Board

  • English Requirements

    All incoming foreign students are required to sit for the English Placement test (if they do not meet the minimum TOEFL or IELTS band score).
