Some of the global issues in our times relate to economic growth and sustainable development, unemployment, poverty, financial and monetary crises. The BSc (Hons) Financial Economics programme gives you the opportunity to combine studies in the areas of economics, financial mathematics and statistics for a wider range of careers both within and outside the financial services industry. You would have more flexibility to venture into diverse fields such as financial planning, macroeconomics, financial forecasting, trading, financial-economic research as well as risk and asset management in banking. To remain competitive in an increasingly complex financial ecosystem, this programme also incorporates topics in the Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Registered Financial Planner (RFP) and Securities Commission Licensing Examination modules to prepare students for these certifications. Some students are even recommended to take an additional examination in order to obtain a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) status.
