    Master of Physiotherapy (Musculoskeletal) programme by course work aims to equip the physiotherapists with higher order problem solving skills in assessment, planning and implementing rehabilitative programs that improve or restore human motor functions, maximize movement ability, relieve pain syndromes, and treat or prevent physical challenges associated with injuries, diseases and other impairments. To meet the needs of physiotherapists, the school of physiotherapy is equipped with cutting edge research equipment and handpicked highly professional faculty with strong research base and fully conversant with orthopedic conditions to deliver this musculoskeletal programme.

Entry Requirements

  • Entry Requirements
    A Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 or its equivalent approved by AIMST University Senate.

    A Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy or its equivalent with CGPA less than 2.50 and a minimum of 5 years working experience in related field.

    Other qualification approved by the government of Malaysia

    International Students:
    In addition to the above requirements, the candidate should have IELTS (5.5)/TOEFL (550) paper based or equivalences and must pass Bahasa Melayu Komunikasi 2 within the candidature period.

Programme Structure

  • Programme Structure

    The first year is devoted to the study of the advanced musculoskeletal assessment and management, including Research Methodology and Biostatistics, which provides a strong platform for evidence based treatment of numerous orthopedic conditions. Students will also be posted in Government hospitals of Malaysia/internationally reputed hospitals in overseas to acquire hands on skills in recent trends of physiotherapy management.

    The second year (final semester) is fully dedicated to research project only for a period of 6 months, in which the students will be guided and mentored by experienced researchers with indexed publications in top ranked physiotherapy related journals.
